It really isn’t WordPress’s fault. The platform grew incredibly fast and there are, currently, more than 55,000 WordPress add-ons (aka plugins). Currently, WordPress powers 40% of the web!

This makes it one of the biggest hacker targets on the planet.

Additionally, all websites require some routine maintenance. Just like cars, you must change the oil, rotate the tires, and put in required repairs if you want to reliably get from point A to B. That’s what our care plans provide.

In our experience, a solid WordPress Care Plan must include:

  • Weekly plugin updates
  • 24/7 uptime monitoring
  • Security scans
  • Performance scans
  • Daily backups

Short answer: Absolutely! Very similar to updates your phones, tablets, and computers need…websites powered by WordPress as well as its themes and plugins need the same type of updates for enhanced improvements to functionality, security, and performance.

While some updates are more regular than others, security updates can happen quickly to correct a very serious issue with your site.

Outside of the security patches (which are pretty frequent), the level of proactive care your site requires depends on:

  • Number of plugins installed on your WordPress website. The more plugins your site uses for the functionality you need could increase the number of security patches that need to be applied.
  • Types of plugins you are using on your WordPress website. Typically, premium/paid plugins are more proactively maintained and built with higher quality code so they generally require fewer updates.

The typical WordPress website has about 15 plugins, on average. Our site is utilizing 29 plugins, 25 of them are premium/paid plugins.

During the three years have provided proactive care services for our over 80 WordPress website owners, and we have never experienced a hacked website.

While we gladly care for sites on any host, we are able to provide the fastest and most complete care on our hosting.

This time is designed for changing text, pictures, products, and other small designs per your request. Please note that any requests for new functionality will usually go over the monthly allotted time and incur additional costs.

Nope! There are no setup costs either! We do a quick website audit to ensure all of your software is properly licensed so updates can be completed. And…should you ever need to leave the plan, there are no cancellation fees. As always, the door is forever open should you ever leave and decide to come back to the plan.

If you decide to decline our maintenance plan, there’s a lot that can go wrong. Here are the top reasons I recommend you make sure your website is maintained:

  • The site will not be optimized which leads to poor performance, slow loading times and a gradual loss of Google SEO rankings.
  • The site’s tools, plugins, themes and WordPress itself will quickly go out of date which is the #1 leading cause of website hacks. It’s incredibly important to keep ALL your website tools and plugins up-to-date.
  • You’ll have no backups or restore points so if the site get hacked or breached, you could lose all your content, pages and Google ranking.
  • You won’t get a monthly report overviewing your site traffic, page views, etc.
  • Most importantly, you won’t have us as your trusted webmaster to assist you with quick updates, tweaks, website issues, etc. Often you’ll have to try getting a hold of your hosting company for any assistance.

Negative, Captain. We’re giving all we can….we just don’t have the power! All joking aside, the allotted time of hourly updates is just covered for the current month. Time does not accrue or roll over.

If your site should get compromised while you’re on the plan – we’ll take care of cleaning the site and getting everything squared away with Google at no extra cost to you. But have no fear; to date – we’ve had ZERO hacks or breaches with any sites on our maintenance plan.

We’ll always try to get your updates done within the provided hour to save any extra cost. However, if you have a decent amount of updates that will require more hours, we’ll give you an estimate of time and do that at our hourly rate.

We can take care of getting the site cleaned for a cleanup fee of $500 then immediately get your site on our care plan to make sure it remains clean and protected from hacks.

We’re a well-oiled machine. We complete your initial audit, optimizations, updates within 48 hours of sign up. As a monthly client, you always get top priority compared to clients who aren’t on a care plan.
